About Stefan

Raised in a family of architects, I was confronted early on with the stylistic modes of action and object art. In my training as a computer scientist, I lived the passion for aesthetics primarily in designing various Internet sites. The advent of digital photography is now opened up new and unprecedented opportunities to computer science and the visual merge. Therein lies my strength: a constant thirst for visual perfection, coupled with the knowledge and experience of the new digital world.

In the meantime, I specialize mainly nature and landscape scenes. Has always been my nature offers a wonderful balance to my work as a computer scientist, so I guess it all the more so today, my hobby, photography, being able to connect with old, fond of outdoor activities. Hiking in the mountains are just as much my passion, such as tours around the lake and through the hilly "Cider India", ie the Thurgau, my home canton. Again and again it is wonderful to discover new landscapes to admire and capture with the camera.

The first pictures I took with the Nikon D300 and the Sigma 10-20 f/3.5. My current images with a full frame Nikon D700 and the Nikkor 16-35 f/2.8 wide angle lens with Circular polarizing filters and Lee. Details and macro shots I stick with the Nikkor 105 f/2.8 Macro. The recordings are taken exclusively in RAW to get the entire color spectrum. The RAW development is done in Adobe Lightroom and then the final editing in Photoshop with my specially developed workflow. It means a lot of work to prepare the photos in good quality. All the more important it is to expose the raw material is already optimal. One thing I've learned, not everything can be corrected in retrospect!

To refine the picture of the development to the finished picture, I offer my images as fine art prints. And I use the advanced starting material and even on high-quality print of this innovation on a print paper from Epson fine art printers. This process helps me determine the colors and contrasts and even I can so my ideas from the camera to determine the final itself. A lot of effort but the joy of preparing a perfect result achieved.
